Instant Pot Green Beans are the PERFECT side dish, made with fresh green beans, vegetable broth, olive oil, and a blend of spices, topped with parmesan cheese and ready in under 20 minutes!
Add green beans to a medium bowl. In a separate small bowl, whisk together spices and olive oil. Pour the oil mixture over the green beans and toss to coat the beans evenly.
Place the steamer basket into the instant pot and pour the broth into the bottom of the pot. Put the green beans into the steamer basket.
Place the lid on the instant pot and lock into place, with the pressure valve in the closed position. Set on manual high setting for 0 minutes. Once time is up, carefully turn the steam valve to the venting position to quick release the pressure.
After the pressure has released, remove the lid and transfer the green beans to a serving bowl, discarding the liquid. Add additional salt and black pepper to taste and top with parmesan cheese.
Notes
StorageRefrigerate cooked green beans for 3-4 days in an airtight container. Freeze cooked green beans in an airtight container for 2-3 months. Cooking Tips
If you don't have vegetable broth, you can use chicken broth, beef broth, or a cup of water instead.
If you have a larger crockpot, use 1 1/2 - 2 cups of broth. Enough to make sure the bottom of the instant pot is covered.
Watch the time and don't let the pot natural release. This will cook the beans too long and you'll have over-cooked green beans.
