Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing is EASY to make and pairs perfectly with salad, wings, or on burgers, made with a few simple ingredients in less than 5 minutes!
Add the blue cheese to the mixing bowl and use a fork to break up any large chunks. Whisk together with all other ingredients but the buttermilk.
Once combined, slowly add the buttermilk, whisking until you reach the desired texture. If the dressing is too thick, add any extra buttermilk as-needed.
Notes
StorageRefrigerate for 3-4 days in an airtight container.I don't recommend freezing this dressing, because the texture will change.Cooking Tips
The flavors for this blue cheese dressing come together as they sit. For the best flavor, make this ahead of time and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.
It may thicken in the refrigerator. Just give it a good stir.
I like to adjust the texture depending on what I'm making this for. For wings, I'll leave out some of the buttermilk and make it a little bit thicker. For salad, I'll go on the thinner side instead.
Don't be afraid to adjust the ingredients as-needed while making this. Taste the dressing once everything is mixed together and add any more salt, pepper, or sugar until you get to a flavor you love.
Homemade dressing can separate while sitting. Give it a quick stir before using it.
The better the quality of blue cheese that you're using, the richer the dressing will taste.
