Simple Homemade Ranch Seasoning Spice Blend has all of the flavors you love from a ranch packet, and can be made in a larger batch! This savory seasoning can be added to anything, from casseroles to meatloaf. Best of all, you can be sure it’s gluten free!

Here’s a spice blend I use so often, that I thought I’d finally share it with all of you. In this version of my simple homemade ranch seasoning spice blend, I don’t use any butter or cream powders, so you don’t have to worry about the dairy. It’s just herbs and spices that you probably already have floating around your spice cabinet. It’s really easy to make, and goes with almost anything!

Ranch is one of those things that I hate to love. On one hand, it makes everything 100% more delicious. On the other hand, I’m always a little bit uncertain about the seasoning packets from the store. Unless it’s certified gluten free, then I feel a little bit better. But there’s also additional ingredients to stop the spices from sticking together, that you really just don’t need when you make it at home. And it’s so easy to make, why wouldn’t you?

I love throwing a few tablespoons of this homemade ranch seasoning into dishes like meatloaf, casserole, or even this easy ranch cheeseball, or these bacon wrapped sausage stuffed jalapeños. It’s super versatile and really kicks up savory dishes a notch.

A lot of these blends use buttermilk powder. I tend not to, because I think the herb blend really stands alone here. Plus, I know a lot of people who just can’t do the dairy thing, so it makes my life easier to just leave it out. However, if you really miss the flavor it adds, you can add about 3-4 tbsp of dry buttermilk powder to this recipe. If you do go with buttermilk, I’d consider refrigerating it to keep it fresh for longer.
