Parmesan & Garlic Gluten Free Breadsticks Recipe is crispy and crunchy, sprinkled with grated parmesan and garlic seasoning. Made with Greek yogurt, they’re only 3 ingredients plus seasoning, and ready in under 20 minutes!

These gluten free breadsticks would go perfectly served beside my Eggplant Rollantini, Vegetable Lasagna, or One Pot Chicken Penne w/Tomato & Basil!

The best part is the dough is incredibly easy to make, because this is a gluten free breadsticks no yeast recipe! You can make a lot of different things with this very same dough. But today I’ve added garlic and parmesan, then rolled it really thin and baked it crispy to be the perfect addition to your next Italian meal!

What is a gluten free breadsticks no yeast recipe?

What I love most about this recipe is that it’s really simple to make. A lot of breadstick recipes have a ton of ingredients, and include steps like add the yeast and let it rise for several hours. I just don’t have time for that. Don’t get me wrong, a good yeast bread is great for when you have some time to kill on the weekends. But I want my gluten free breadsticks as quick as my weeknight dinner! Which is the main reason I sought after a gluten free breadsticks no yeast recipe.

What you need to make this gluten free breadsticks recipe:

Like I mentioned above, this recipe is insanely simple. So you only need a few simple things:

  • Sheet pan with parchment paper
  • Bowl with spoon and whisk
  • Gluten free all-purpose flour
  • Double-acting baking powder
  • Greek yogurt
  • Parmesan
  • Garlic powder

Thats it! The gluten free breadsticks dough is really only 3 ingredients, then whatever seasoning you’d like. I make parmesan and garlic breadsticks because it goes really well with Italian-style food, like my One Pot Chicken Alfredo, or One Pot Chicken Parmesan and Pasta.

How to make breadsticks!

This homemade gluten free breadsticks recipe is REALLY easy to make. Which is one of the reasons I love it so much! And just like there’s only a few simple ingredients, there’s also only a few simple steps to follow to learn how to make breadsticks.

  1. Whisk together your flour and baking soda.
  2. Add Greek yogurt and stir until it turns into a dough.
  3. Flour your hands so it doesn’t stick, and roll out long sticks.
  4. Sprinkle with seasoning.
  5. Place all of them on baking sheet, and bake!

Thats it! Parmesan garlic breadsticks in no time at all!

How do you store homemade breadsticks?

Simply wrap your homemade gluten free breadsticks tightly in foil or a plastic bag, and store them on the counter. They’ll last about 2-3 days, before they start getting stale. You can also make a batch of this dough and freeze it for later. Then pull it out when it’s time to impress the guests with fancy homemade breadsticks! Who knows, they may even ask you to teach them how to make breadsticks!

Are breadsticks bread?

This is a tricky question. The short answer is, yes, you can make homemade breadsticks out of real bread dough. But they’re cooked differently than regular bread. And this garlic breadsticks recipe is only three ingredients – greek yogurt, all purpose flour, and baking powder – so it’s really different from other bread dough to start with. But you can make rolls or other bread products out of this dough! You are not limited to parmesan garlic breadsticks.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups greek yogurt plain, nonfat
  • 2 cups gluten free all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp double-acting baking powder gluten free
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp parmesan grated
  • cooking spray
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 425F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. 

  2. In a mixing bowl whisk together flour and baking powder. Stir in Greek yogurt until everything is combined into a dough. 

  3. Add some flour to your hands to help the dough not stick. Taking small pieces at a time, roll the dough between your hands to make long sticks. Place on the baking sheet with a little bit of room between each one. 

  4. Once breadsticks are all on the sheet, spray lightly with cooking oil and sprinkle with parmesan cheese and garlic powder. 

  5. Bake 10-15 minutes, or until breadsticks are golden brown and crispy.

Recipe Notes

You might have to work in batches, depending on the size of your baking sheet. 

Flour helps keep the dough from sticking to your hands. But if you don't have any extra, oil on your hands will work, too!
